Welcome to the website of the Berdan's Aide Society re-enacting unit. We are family members and friends in support of members of the 1st United States Sharpshooters Company C re-enacting unit.

Our re-enacting unit is comprised of men and women from Illinois, Wisconsin and Great Britain. The civilians who remained behind during the American Civil War were constantly thinking of and attempting to help those troops who served in the field.  Our Civilians do this through a variety of representations of home life activities that I encourage you to explore in this website.  We encourage you to ask any questions either as you see us at events or at our contact form. Thank you for your interest.

Our unit is willing to conduct school talks. If you would like someone to speak at your school, please contact us at the email address below and we will have the member of our unit closest to you contact you for further details.

Berdan's Aide Society is always looking for members wishing to educate themselves and the public about the time period of the American Civil War. If you are interested in re-enacting the American Civil War please do not hesitate to contact us and we will be happy to discuss involvement in this hobby.
